Christmas Eve – a Recap

It seems so long ago already, but Christmas Eve was awesome!  We spent the day with Ken’s family and enjoyed a great dinner, opened some gifts and of course, got ready for Santa.

Griffin takes gift-opening very seriously

Jace clearly loves his new jammies

Griffin was so excited to get ready for Santa.  First, he had to go outside and sprinkle his reindeer food in the driveway:

Then, we had to get the milk and cookies ready.  Santa only likes Golden Oreos, you know.  I had absolutely nothing to do with that, and I’m DEFINITELY not eating some as I’m typing this… 😉

Jace was watching, taking mental notes for next year…

Golden Oreos, got it...

A quick chat with Logan to let him know he was on the naughty list:

"You're getting a lump of kitty coal Logan!"

Then my boy got serious for a minute.  He said that since Santa gives toys to all the girls and boys around the world, we should leave a present for Santa.  I was so proud of him for being so thoughtful and caring, and then I remembered that this idea was from the Dora Christmas Special we watched earlier in the week.  Oh well, I’ll take it.  It was sweet watching him scour the house for the perfect present for Santa.  We settled on a nice cozy neck warmer we thought he would like, and he wrapped it himself…

That's my wine, not his 🙂

Now, I know what you’re thinking.  You’re thinking “that’s not Griffin, that boy is not wearing pyjamas!”  Well, yes, it is him.  He wore real clothes for six hours that day.  It is nothing short of a Christmas miracle.

Don’t worry though, the matching Christmas jammers made an appearance:

Jace was thrilled!

But there was still room for one more Christmas miracle that night – both kids slept until 6:30 am.  It was the best present we could have asked for since both of these boys are card-carrying members of the 5 am club.

Stay tuned for our Christmas Day recap.  I’m getting tired just thinking about it.  More to come…
